Meet the Writer; Graeme (Gray) Bland

This is a tough one to write, because I’m writing about myself and although most content creators like the limelight, I’m more of a “behind the camera directing the action” kind of guy.

When people who know me personally ask why I’ve started a blog (knowing that I’m 100% hermit), the answer is easy - I’ve always been a writer. I wrote short stories from the day I learned to write. I studied copywriting (however, incomplete) and to this day I still have dreams of releasing fictional novels. Writing gives you the voice that your physical self could never have. It transcends the physical and takes the shape of whatever you give it and after mixing with the imagination of your reader, it is a celestial being that is immune to the harsh realities of the world.

I am however, a very average competitive gamer and as much as I’d love to create exciting video content that is industry related and make a name (and the tons of money that come with it) for myself, it simply wouldn’t happen in that way. I do consider myself a half decent writer though and hope that in writing about the industry that I love, I can make something of myself here despite being completely average at the actual competitive side. I also want to use my writing to promote other South African talent, be they YouTubers, other bloggers, influencers, etc. The gaming space has always been a haven for me, and I’d love for us all to grow that (and ourselves) and offer a sanctuary from real life to others, who may not have been exposed to the awesome environment gaming offers.

In short, FMG was designed to be a platform for growth for South African gamers, be it personally or through followership.

Anyway, enough about me and FMG – if you would like to be a contributor for FMG (I’d love for you to be one) you will have your very own “meet the author post” and have your article on the blog (awesome, right)?? As I said above, writing gives you a voice that you may not have otherwise had, so even if you’re not an influencer or content creator, but you have something to say, we want you to say it on FMG with your own article!
